The Miller Foundation Addresses COVID-19 Needs

LONG BEACH, CA (Apr. 2, 2020)  The Earl B. and Loraine H. Miller Foundation Board of Trustees has decided to make all funding awarded for the 2020/2021 grant year Operational rather than Program-Specific to better assist local nonprofit agencies in addressing immediate needs. This major change in funding philosophy is intended to allow nonprofit leaders maximum flexibility as they plan operational sustainability while continuing much needed services.

To expedite this support, the Miller Foundations grants award timeline has been modified to release funds with a sense of urgency rather than during the traditional July time frame.

Trustees convened for special meetings in March to ensure that there was a thorough understanding of nonprofit/community needs before making an unprecedented decision.

In addition to grants awarded, the Foundation continues efforts to form strategic collaborations that will leverage strengths and resources within the Long Beach community to serve a greater good.
