Youth Mental Health

Through assessment of data and trends in Long Beach, we identified gaps and opportunities to best contribute to improving the well-being of children, resulting in a set of specific outcomes we are seeking, as well as community-level indicators that will help guide our decision-making, prioritize investments, and assess progress.

Outcomes:

Long Beach youth have timely access to quality mental health supports.

 

Long Beach youth have improved social and emotional well-being.

 

Long Beach youth have the mental health stability and supports needed to achieve academic success.

 

Indicators:

  • Youth reporting persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness
  • Belonging: LBUSD students have a sense of connectedness, where they are accepted and valued by others
  • Chronic absenteeism rate (youth with ≥10% of school days missed)
