Since 2000, the Miller Foundation has committed over 30 million dollars to Long Beach organizations to grow and advance the youth in Long Beach.
Earl and Loraine Miller’s love for the Children of Long Beach prompted them to establish the Earl B. and Loraine H. Miller Foundation as well as build the Miller Children’s Hospital.
Since its inception in 1967, the foundation has maintained its focus on children and their health care needs within the Greater Long Beach community. As the Foundation approached the new millennium, the Board of Trustees conducted a needs assessment for the children of Long Beach.
As a result, the board adopted the concept of treating the whole child and the World Health Organization’s definition of health. These concepts were integrated into the Foundations strategic plan.
